Engagement

The most joyful thing has happened. My sister, Lizzy, was correct. Mr Bingley does love me! He proposed only hours ago! I feel a kind of happiness that I have never before experienced. We will certainly be the happiest couple in all of England. He is the most wonderful man I have even known.

    My dearest Jane,
    I have always loved you. Ever since I saw you at the first ball, I saw something in you that was not in any girl I had ever met. You probably knew I liked you because I asked you to dance twice. I am very sorry I did not see you when you were at your aunt and uncle's house. I had no idea you were in town. I cannot wait to move in with you. I have never been happier.
